Services Dedicated to Supporting Families

Family involvement is an integral part of the recovery process. Family members with a loved one in treatment often need emotional guidance themselves. Malvern Behavioral Health’s Families F.I.R.S.T. Program is a resource for families to support you through this journey.

Family FIRST

Family Therapy

Family sessions are provided by our social work team and when appropriate, are recommended as a part of the treatment plan. Family therapy is available once a week. This generally occurs via phone or Skype. Family members can schedule a time that is best manageable for them.

Families F.I.R.S.T. Support Group

We proudly offer a Families F.I.R.S.T. (Families Invested in Recovery and Supporting Treatment) program. This is a support/psychoeducational group facilitated by a clinician each Sunday at 1:00pm prior to visiting hours. It is open to all family members who are currently being cared for at Malvern Behavioral Health. Families F.I.R.S.T is designed to support families who have been supporting a loved one who suffers from mental illness. The group’s focus is on education, recognizing red flags, resources in the community, answering questions you may have about your loved one’s symptoms and overall support for one another.

Visitor Handbook

Supporting families is important as everyone is affected by mental illness. Our Visitor Handbook explains a number of procedures and activities at our program.
