Behavioral Health Treatment Services

We offer therapeutic programs for struggling young adults and activities to suit each individual’s needs and growth towards success.

Groups are facilitated by a Master Level Clinician and work with individuals on issues ranging from trauma and cognitive-behavioral stressors to grief work and positive ways of managing stress.

Evidence-Based Treatment

Evidence-Based Treatment

We believe evidence-based treatment helps people rebuild relationships and enhances their overall well-being. Our focus is on helping patients process trauma and build a sustainable path of recovery.

Trauma-Informed and Recovery-Focused Environment

Our staff is trained in trauma-informed care to ensure we are giving the highest quality of treatment with compassion and care. We understand that some of the individuals we serve may be experiencing these symptoms for the first time or experiencing inpatient for the first time. Being “trauma-informed” means that the treatment provided is done with the belief that any and all participants may have experienced a significant life event at some point in their life that changed the way they view the world. For that reason, our staff takes great care in providing a safe place for our emerging adult patients to begin their work towards eliminating feelings and behaviors that have otherwise interrupted their ability to function in a healthy way.

Cognitive-Based Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive-behavioral therapy focuses on identifying negative thought patterns and replacing them with motivational messages to support healthy relationships, productivity, and engagement in the world around us.

Introduce Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills (DBT)

Dialectical-behavior therapy skills are introduced in a group format to increase the tools these young adults can use to navigate life stressors. We take the skills that are taught in the DBT curriculum and help patients identify areas of their life where this skill may be helpful in decreasing to eliminating stress. Often, young adults are coming with little understanding of how to manage mood and/or frustration. Some of the skills we introduce are distress tolerance and learning how to better regulate their emotions.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a highly recommended method of treatment for this specific age group. Our young people are coming to us confused about why their lives feel out of control and have difficulty identifying and making changes necessary to improve. MI allows for the recognition that each young adult coming to treatment comes at a different level of readiness for change. We are able to meet our patients where they are and help support growth. This is not agreeing with the dysfunction but rather supporting problem recognition, highlighting the potential benefits of changing the behavior, and supporting them in identifying their confidence in readiness for change.

Mindfulness Practices

Mindfulness exercises are held daily. Patients are encouraged to use an hour each day to participate in meditation, journal writing, yoga and/or guided imagery. This hour is patient driven specific to content.

Group & Individual Therapy

Group & Individual Therapy

Our master’s level clinicians facilitate both process groups and recreational groups. These groups are individualized to the current needs of the unit and cover a variety of areas to help support growth and healing. Group therapy is a time to share how you are feeling and to hear other’s perspective on similar issues you may have experienced.

Intensive individual psychotherapy is usually not provided. However, when there is clinical indication, individual psychotherapy or marital/family therapy may be prescribed and provided.

Psychoeducation Groups

These groups are led by our mental health technicians and focus on topics such as, self-care, relationships, problem-solving, personal acceptance, and using skills to increase frustration tolerance and regulate emotions.

Nursing Groups

Our nursing team provides educational groups to our young adults. Some examples may include, the pros and cons of screen time, nutrition, medication education, mental health stigma, effects of vaping, and the effects of substance use on the brain.

Healthy Living Groups

These groups focus on ways to get better sleep, select healthier food choices, and the importance of staying active.

Other Services
